COMEDY CALYPSO CARIBBEAN JAZZ (CCCJ)
The first Caribbean Jazz event in Orlando was launched by Lyma Dunbar in 2009 at The Wellsbuilt Museum due to its rich African American history. After ten years, the event has made a resurgence with the maintained focus of sharing the power of our Caribbean genres when fused with jazz, R&B, bossa nova, and other rhythms. Comedy, Calypso and Caribbean Jazz, places three art forms in one event; The Caribbean Jazz component helps our audience step into the experience of beautifully fused syncopated rhythms; the comic vibe helps one further kick back and relax, which further places our guests in the right mood for some sweet calypso and soca music performed live by some of the Caribbean’s renowned entertainers, some of whom are part of the musical tapestry of the genre which has its origins in Trinidad and Tobago.
